Hi Steve,
It’s been three years already since I first came across your site. From then I have been visiting your site everyday. I would like to share my story and thoughts to reflect how inspiring and successful your site is. Congratulations and thanks for doing this.
I started my photographic journey in April 2009, when I bought my first camera just to snap some photos during my vacation with friends. It was a DSLR, Canon 450D, with just one kit lens. I was hooked and bought lots more of lens, upgraded my camera and was a really happy canon shooter.
I brought my big DSLR along with several big lens with me everywhere on any trip (Yes, they are eight plus kilograms!) from just a small hop-arounds to long hiking days. I did not feel tired at all while lugging around all my gears all day long. At that time, I was aware of the Leica M9, an insanely priced but beautiful small full frame camera that I thought I will never buy this camera.
Until when I came across your site.
I started reading about the small old-fashioned camera with its fantastic lens. I kept reading every lens review you did including those on the old site. With your honest, enthusiasm and passion you shown in your reviews, I was convinced to give myself a try of such a wonderful camera system.
And yes, I did it. From the day I had purchased my M9, it has been my main camera since then due to its small size, image quality and its beauty (yes there is a love factor!). My 5D MKII and all my ‘L’ lenses are now sitting in the cabinet for most of the time and I now am a very happy Leica shooter :) You changed the way I take photos and my bank account of course. :)
It is so true that with the small-sized camera, I take more photos as it is always with me. The big camera, they now spend their time in the cabinet. Here are some photos of my niece. Emoji
And the last thing I want to share.
Friends, if you are thinking about buying anything Leica, think about Mr. Ken Hansen. This gentle man is who you go to. He is first class dealer. Extremely fast and good services. I can’t say it enough. He shipped the Noctilux to me even I did not pay him yet (I live in Thailand!). I personally recommend him. Thanks for reading.
Warm regards,
